*2 4 Birthday Candles*
"We Grow Neither Better Nor Worse as we get Old, But more like Ourselves"
Birthdays are a funny thing.
When your younger you get excited to plan your next big birthday party, who you'll invite at school.. Wanting to make sure you invite all friends possible so you don't have any enemy's the following day. What games you'll play... will it be pizza for dinner? or warm enough for a bbq (I was never lucky enough to have the outdoor summer bday) and most important what flavor of cake. My favorite part of course was planning the loop bags ! haha remember those things?
Now birthdays consist of your friends and a night on the town. A big party with less cake and more booze. Instead of everyone asking how many presents did you get? Its more a question of how are you feeling the day after.
This year I spend my birthday lunch with some of my friends from the Game Crew. Real Sports Bar and Grill brought our table three giant, delicious deserts.. big enough to feed the entire team of the Toronto Maple Leafs ! And a big thanks to Bear for treating us all to lunch x
On the weekend my friends and I set off to Blue Mountain to celebrate myself and Sara's birthday, and my first attempt skiing in Canada... well first attempt skiing at all. Besides snow blades I have never tried and lets be honest I was scared to break myself with these old bones, haha. The whole weekend was a success.. from the chalet to perfect weather and me not killing myself on the ski hill! My friends even surprised Sara and I with a Birthday Party.. balloons, cupcakes, streamers, snacks, presents, even danced around to our sweet boombox ... I guess it is the little things that make a birthday great... so maybe we don't grow up after all?
Life is an adventure, enjoy it .

Quote of the Day :
"Do a little more each day than you think
you possibly can."
Its that time of the year. Mid winter.. one day it rains, one day there's snow... one minute you don't have to wear a winter coat.....
The Winter Blues.
The worst part of all is waking up and once again the sun is know where to be found.

Well its time to shake away the winter blues ! Ya ya we all wish it could be summer, who wouldn't at time time of the year. Sorry to break it to ya but complaining about it wont make it get here any quicker. So here are my top five shake those winter blues away tips....
1. Try something new !
This can be once a day or if your too busy during the week try something new once a week.
hint: I love buying Cosmo and flipping to the back, they always have new work outs and even new healthy recipes to try. Makes it fun, and switches things up.. who knows you could find something you absolutely love.
2. Get outdoors !
Yes I know its too cold... Well bundle up! The winter air is actually good for you, and getting outdoors can help release the stress away.
hint: Grab your uggs and winter hat and head to a nearby hiking trail with some friends. A great way to get outdoors and a workout all in one.
3. Laugh it out !
You cant disagree with me that when you laugh it doesn't make you feel better.. right? Laughter can actually strengthen your immune system, boost your energy, and help protect you from stress.
hint: My advice.. watch a few episodes of Ellen!! ... or if your not a fan (do not know how you couldn't be!).. have date night with friends, rent a comedy and laugh it out!!
4. Treat yourself !
Its hard to go to the mall and not want to buy everything in sight... and you don't have to. But once and a while its nice to treat yourself to something new, and it doesn't have to be expensive.
hint: It can be as simple as new nail polish, or that new handbag you've been waiting to go on sale and it finally has! If you don't want to spend a lot pick a day a month you go out and treat yourself to a little something.
5. Plan a mini getaway !
This time of the year everyone is working extra hard to get back all the money spent at Christmas and New Years. Planning a mini getaway doesn't have to be a trip down south. Just getting out even for a night can make you feel refreshed.
hint: Plan a weekend up north. Gather some friends together and rent a little cottage, with enough people you can get a great deal. Its beautiful this time of year up north and it will make you appreciate the winter weather.
*Just a few things to help you get through the winter. Summer will be here before we know it but until then.. enjoy the winter Canada has to offer !

"If you do what you love... you'll never work a day in your Life"
Saturday night I worked the Leafs Game at the ACC.
Leafs vs Rangers and a special night dedicated to the Canadian Forces.
This is my first season working with the Toronto Maple Leafs as a member of the Game Crew and Blue Crew. Being able to work game nights are amazing itself, being able to work special events and nights like these (Canadian Forces Night) is truly a privilege! Amongst are amazing Leaf fans Saturday night were over 400 Canadian troops, some of which repelled down from the rafters at the beginning ceremony, ripped open their shirts, and showed off their Leafs t-shirts, which got an amazing applause. Needless to say not a dry eye in the house.
Don Cherry even made a special appearance. Dressed to impress as always, he certainly showed his support that night, and has for years, as he received a standing ovation.
A lot of Game Crew said this was their favorite night of the season.... now I know why. It was amazing to meet and take photos with all of the men and women who sacrifice everything for our country... even missing the birth of their only daughter !!!!
For everything you guys do, myself and the Game Crew want to thank you. Definitely a night I won't forget at the ACC !!!
